In early 2014 the five students got together and formed the band Shan. From the start the concept of songwriting was based around composing and arranging collectively, which can be heard in the way each musician fits the soundscape. The music carries a strong impression of individuals personal references, and the product is a unique musical experience – something feedback from both audience and promoters show.
Since 2014 they’ve played dozens of concerts in Southern Norway – among others the band played Fjellparkfestivalen 2016, where they shared the stage with artists like Sondre Lerche and Dungen. They have also done support for artists like Fay Wildhagen and Himmelhøyt. Spring 2017 Shan went on they’re first Norway tour in conjunction with the release of their debut single Stay, where they visited venues like Studentersamfundet in Trondheim, Hulen in Bergen and Herr Nilsen in Oslo. Consistently for the whole tour was good response from the audience, something that’s been the band experience from the start.
"The people behind Fjellparkfestivalen has done it again! It's not every year it happens, but when it happens, it's HUGE! The feeling of being there - in the beginning of something that can be BIG. Remember the name Shan! Come to Fjellparkfestivalen and experience them. This is jaw-to-the-floor-and-a-tear-drop-music that entralls from beginning to end. WOW!"
